Bryan McAvoy (Vice Chair and Chair of the North Area Board)
Now retired, Bryan had a varied career working as a sheet metal worker and for the post office in addition to his 9 years as a Police Officer. Active in his trade union, Bryan was also a union convenor and shop steward. Bryan also has governance experience as a member of the North Liverpool Primary Care Trust.
Bryan has a long history of Tenant and Resident Involvement and has been a member of the Cavendish Estates TARA for 10 years, many of which he spent as Chairman.
As Vice Chair Bryan has played an important role in the development of other tenant Board members who have looked to him for support and leadership. Bryan has been very effective in helping them understand their roles and build confidence. Pre-transfer Bryan was a member of the Finance Committee and Staffing and Organisation Committee. Post-transfer Bryan is a member of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Governance Working Group.
Bryan's involvement and experience led him to be elected as Vice Chair for LMH, a position he has held since the Board was established. Bryan has also often acted as a spokesperson for other tenants and has played a huge role in promoting LMH to tenant groups and wider stakeholder groups. Bryan has a particular interest in all governance and company related issues and is Board Champion for Governance.
