Healthcare Cadet Apprenticeship in the NHS Level 2. Commencing September 2011 based in one of the Merseyside Colleges named above, the Healthcare Cadet Apprenticeship programme will allow Cadets an opportunity to develop their Healthcare Skills within the NHS by being based at an NHS Trust or a Social Care organisation.

Hours:
37 ½ hours per week once employment contract offered
AGE:
16 -18 (age is restricted due to qualification funding)
Pay:
First 10 weeks Cadets will be on a college based 'Introduction to Programme' and will be paida £15 per week travel allowance.
If successful Cadets will be offered an Apprenticeship on a Fixed Term Apprentice Employment Contract with Skills for Health UK Ltd and be paid an apprenticeship minimum wage of £2.50 an hour (£95 per week)
Total Length of Programme:
Up to 12 months
Essential Criteria must have:
5 GCSE's at D or above including Maths and English or equivalent.
Other essential requirements Candidates must be:
- Reliable
- Respectful to others.
- Enthusiastic and committed to a career in Healthcare
- Have good communication skills
If selected for an interview, applicants will be required to undertake a small diagnostic assessment.
Tasks:
First 10 weeks Cadets will be introduced to the programme and will be based in a College environment. During this period, apart from commencing tutorials etc. an enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check and Occupational Health assessment will be carried out. Cadets will need to have good attendance, punctuality and comply with all deadlines for the programme. If successful during this period Cadets will be offered an Apprenticeship and will work alongside NHS professionals gaining Valuable Healthcare experience and competencies.
