Pathways for Parents programme

The Pathways for Parents programme is a new initiative aimed at young parents and pregnant teens between the ages of 16-18, who are currently living within the Merseyside area. The programme is initially run on a 12 week basis with the opportunity to extend the time frame in an attempt to help our learners achieve further qualifications. The aim of this project is to offer support and training, as well as giving the learners the opportunity to meet other young people, sharing their thoughts and experiences.

Each learner attending this course will be entitled to the following:-

  • Childcare (Care to learn) The young parent can chose their own Childcare provider. (there is a childcare provider near to Sysco that some of our parents use)
  • Travel costs
  • Lunch provided

The programme is currently being held at Sysco in Trueman Street, and runs on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between the hours of 9.30am-3.00pm. It not only gives the young person the opportunity to learn, but also be in a friendly atmosphere in which to build their confidence and self esteem.

The learners will have the opportunity during their time on the course, to gain qualifications in:

  • Maths and English
  • Personal and Social Development
  • Employability
  • ICT

At the end of the course we will assist each individual to progress onto further training or employment to help them to achieve their potential.
