It is really all about Wood

11 May 2010

The election is over and the blog is back to what I am sure will be a great fanfare or perhaps a deafening silence!

The whole country (or certainly the media) is dominated by observing events in Westminster village although I have also noticed something of a different theme in the news – Wood.  Some politicians are pine-ing for easier days before Parliament was hung while others are trying to make a Cabinet.  The airlines are concerned about Ash and their customers just want to be on the Beech.  I think most people want things (political or not) to settle down otherwise they might be Syc-a-more.(I know there are a few spelling mistakes but humour me!).

The big news of the week though has got nothing to do with politics but rather it has been reported that parts of Sir Isaac Newton's apple tree is to be taken into space by NASA.

This week is yet another big week for LMH as we see ourselves shortlisted for Housing Excellence and Housing Heroes Awards.  Sandwiched between these events we see our own LMH Awards where we look back at significant achievements over the last year.  It is important that we recognise such achievements and keep a sense of perspective (or even relativity!) whilst also ensuring that we observe the laws of gravity by keeping our feet on the ground.

I will ensure that we maintain this approach at LMH in the coming years so that we are successful however we branch out in the future but I would repeat the words of Sir Isaac to his family – it's all relative!!
