Thank U Very Much Mike & Lily for being in the Pink
18 March 2010
Driving around Liverpool In recent weeks I have found my musical tastes chancing significantly. Whilst I have always been a Beatles and Paul McCartney fan I have found myself being drawn towards the work of his brother Mike. For a while I was puzzled as to why my tastes would change so much in such a short space of time and then it dawned on me – whenever I have driven all I can see is Scaffold and work being done to LMH properties.
The pace and scale of the Improvement Programme continues to go from strength to strength as we complete backlogs, ensure tenants have modern heating and windows together with the delivery of thousands of new kitchens and bathrooms over the last year alone. Recently we have seen the commencement of a new phase of our work as we go headlong into improving the fabric of our flats and their surrounding environment.
As I looked at the work to the flats it seemed to be a tangible reason for the huge increases in tenant satisfaction that we have seen since transfer. Indeed, whilst I was looking at some flats I thought I would seek out a tenant called Lily as I am sure that in the words of Mike McCartney she would be in the 'Pink'. Likewise these activities are also a way for LMH to say to our tenants 'Thank U Very Much' for having faith in us in the first place.
I have also developed a liking for Mike Oldfield and particularly his 'Tubular Bells' album.
On the sporting front some LMH colleagues are looking to set up an Over 40's Football Team and whilst my silky skills would obviously mean that I am a dead cert for the team I was a little worried over the selection criteria – over 40 what? I relaxed a little once I found out it was either age or waistline as I can qualify either way.
