Using energy efficiently is the single most effective way you can help to reduce pollution and global warning. Please play your part by using energy efficiently in the office - by doing so you can help to protect your environment.
The following helpful tips will help you get started and to use energy more efficiently in the office.
- While there is enough daylight, switch off all lights that aren't essential in the home.
- Make sure that radiators are turned off before you open a window to cool your home and that (apart from necessary ventilation) all windows and doors are closed before you turn any radiator on.
- Switch off any appliance or item that is not being used.
- Use the stairs, whenever possible, rather than the lift. It saves electricity, is often quicker and keeps you fit!
- Wherever possible, replace old electrical items with modern energy efficient appliances.
- Turn off hot and cold water taps completely. Report any leaks or drips immediately.
- If you are too warm turn the thermostat down, don't just open the window.
- Don't over fill the kettle for just one drink; heat the amount of water you really need.
