GIFT - Recycling

Did you know that in the UK we throw away enough rubbish to fill the Royal Albert Hall every two hours?

As a nation, we generate more than 434 million tonnes of rubbish a year. With around 26 million tonnes coming straight from the home. Leo Hickman in his book ''A Good Life' explains, that's just the tip of the iceberg 'for every tonne of rubbish you discard, an extra 5 tonnes of waste is generated by manufacturing and 20 tonnes at the point where the raw material is extracted.'

And rubbish is bad news for climate change too. The UK's 400 landfills produce the greenhouse gas methane which accounts for around 40% of our greenhouse gas emissions.

LMH are making a commitment to increase the rate of recycling of office materials and reduce waste.
