Armistead
The Armistead Centre is hosted in NHS Liverpool Community Health and provides the following services:
- Armistead Project – support, information and sexual health promotion and drugs harm reduction advice to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community
- Armistead Street – outreach, access and referral services to female street based sex workers
- Armistead City – outreach access and referral services to young men up to the age of 25 who exchange sex for gain or favour
- Portside – sexual health promotion and outreach work to off-street sex workers
Spirit Level
Spirit Level is a group for transgender people, which is facilitated by members of the community. It meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at the Armistead Centre, from 7.30pm onwards.
Anyone who has issues of gender identity, male or female or any part of the gender spectrum of anyone else affected by gender identity issues, friends, family, professionals etc, is welcome to attend.
LGBT Women
Armistead Women's Group is a social space where LGBT women can expect to meet women who can offer support, help and to build a mutually supportive network. Support and advice can be given with:
- Family conflict or home issues
- Sexual and reproductive health
- Counselling and relationship advice
- Bullying, homophobia, transphobia and other hate crimes
- Drug and alcohol concerns
It meets at Armistead on the last Wednesday of every month.
45+ Group
A social and support group for LGBT people over 45 years of age.
- Support around hate crime
- Sexual Health information and materials
- Drug and Alcohol advice
- Support after bereavement
A sliver social is organised every 3 months
BOLD- Be Out With Learning Difficulties.
The group is an informal space where you can get support and advice around sexual health, coming out, homophobia, relationships or drugs and alcohol. BOLD is a space where you 'can be yourself', meet other people with learning difficulties who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered.
Armistead Youth
A group for LGBT people aged between 13 and 19 to meet other young people in a safe space. Armistead has a group who meet in Knowsley and a Saturday youth drop in. You can receive support in coming out, homophobia, sexual health and other lifestyles issues.
Positive Educators Program
A health and wellbeing program for HIV/ Hepatitis C positive gay and bisexual men to be trained supported as peer educators. Full training and support is offered to enable peer educators to train other gay, bisexual men and professionals, engage and support other people living with HIV/ Hepatitis C and develop and design health and wellbeing campaigns for other gay and bisexual men.
Positive men's group
A social and support group for gay and bisexual men living with HIV/ Hepatitis C.
Support offered on the following issues.
- Disclosure
- Relationship advice
- Safer sex information
- Support and advice for family and friends or carers of HIV positive people
- Support and advice on medication adherence
- Support to GUM appointments
