Energy saving
Energy prices have risen sharply in recent months and LMH is keen to help you keep your bills down.
Our improvement programme includes energy-efficient boilers and radiators, plus windows and external doors which help your home retain warmth. We are also fitting roofs to empty homes which will result in an excellent energy rating.
What can you do?
Small changes can lead to big savings. Why not try these:
- If you have central heating, time it to go off 30 minutes before you leave the house or go to bed
- Don’t leave the following items on standby: TVs, DVD players, microwaves, videos, stereos and computers
- Use low energy light bulbs
- If you have central heating turn your thermostat down by 1°C and save £30 a year
- Don’t put curtains, furniture or drying clothes in front of radiators
- Defrost your fridge regularly
- Only wash full loads in washing machines and dishwashers
- Match the size of the cooker ring/gas flame to the size of the saucepan
- Only boil as much water in the kettle as you need
- If you have a shower it uses less than half of the water needed for a bath
- Compare prices of energy
