About the East Area

The East Team is responsible for providing housing management services; covering allocations and lettings, estate management, rent arrears pursuance and a major capital improvement programme for some 3,000 properties within the Liverpool 12, 13, 14, 15, 6, and 7 postal districts. The area covers socially rented housing to varying degrees within 9 Council Wards.

Since stock transfer we have provided new doors and windows to 1,000 properties, new central heating systems in 750 properties and new bathrooms and back kitchens in 50 properties.

The team is based in an office on Montrose Business Park on Edge Lane Liverpool 7 which is in a central location for the area, the office has a public counter and is open 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

We have a team of 32 officers which include:

  • 6 officers responsible for estate management and tenancy enforcement
  • 6 officers responsible for allocations and lettings and maintaining an open counter at the area office
  • 10 officers engaged on the capital repairs programme
  • 4 area based caretakers responsible for general maintenance of communal areas of blocks of flats
  • 1 resident caretaker who is responsible for the communal areas of the only multi storey block of flats that transferred to Liverpool Mutual Homes.

We hold 6 weekly open tenant forums at which attendees receive various information and are given an opportunity (at the end of the meeting) to talk to staff about personal issues affecting their homes such as repairs etc.

We are undertaking major works on properties in The Green which is an estate of three storey walk up flats opposite to Broadgreen hospital. The properties are in an area of high demand but due to years of neglect from a repairs and maintenance aspect the properties have fallen in to disrepair and their popularity has waned.

Since transfer we have replaced doors and windows, installed central heating and are presently undertaking a re roofing programme. Later this years we will be fitting new bathrooms and back kitchens; this will bring the properties up to decency standard. The works to date have already had a stabilising effect on the estate and we have been able to reduce the normally high level of empty properties to zero.
