Regenerating Neighbourhoods

LMH is committed to successfully regenerating neighbourhoods in Liverpool, some of which are the most deprived areas in the country.

Success with this is not just about providing homes for people who are in need or refurbishing properties by putting in new kitchens and bathrooms, it also relies on tackling other challenges in the neighbourhood which are usually classed as 'social' and 'economic', such as:

  • Anti social behaviour
  • Drug dealing
  • High levels of crime
  • High numbers of people who are unemployed
  • Lack of community facilities
  • Poor general facilities, such as shops, bus routes, schools

All of which can have a negative impact upon a neighbourhood and it's prospects for the future.

As well as continuing with it's planned investment programme, LMH intend to liaise and work with specific partners to support tackling the economic challenges that hold back deprived areas, otherwise the neighbourhood will still have the same problems it had before any works were undertaken and will potentially get worse for the people who live there and will mean that others do not want to go and live there because of it's 'reputation'.

Neighbourhood Boundaries

In order to start regenerating the areas we have spent a long time looking at our where our properties are and with the involvement of tenants we have now created neighbourhood boundaries. There are 29 neighbourhoods across the City in total and the names and boundaries of how they are made up can be seen on the maps here in the related resources to the right of this page. We want our tenants to recognise the neighbourhood where they live and share our vision at LMH 'to be proud of our homes, have pride in our neighbourhoods' and together we can work to make neighbourhoods places where people want to live and choose to stay.
