About the West Area

The West Team manage 2,700 property in L8, L3, L1 and L17.

Most of our homes are in Liverpool 8, in the area between the River front, Ullet Road, Lodge Lane and Parliament Street. It includes Dingle, and the Granby, Coltart and Solway estates. We manage flats, houses and bungalows here.

The L8 area is the most ethnically mixed area in the City and there places of worship of all denominations here as well as a Mosque and a synagogue. There are local primary and secondary schools, shops, doctors, and a park in the area. There is a frequent bus service to town.

We have a small amount of homes, mainly flats, in L17, off Aigburth Road. These properties are extremely popular, it is unusual for people to leave and homes here very rarely become available for letting.

Properties are located near Sefton Park, the largest and oldest park in Liverpool. There are shops and supermarkets nearby, and a variety of restaurants in Lark Lane. We also have a small number of homes in Jericho Farm by Otterspool Park, located very near the Riverfront and there are walking and cycling routes into town from here.

We manage homes in Liverpool 1, where the Chinese Community have been based for decades. There are Chinese restaurants, shops and community centres here and the town centre is within easy walking distance. Popular celebrations of Chinese New Year take place here every year.

In Liverpool 3, Cathedral Walk and the area around Holy Cross and Fontenoy Street, we manage flats, houses and bungalows but these rarely become empty. The area is ideally based for access to the town centre, as it is within walking distance. There are local schools and churches.

We have a very small number of homes, mainly flats within houses, in the Georgian Quarter of Liverpool. This is a conservation area and is within easy walking distance of town.

There are also 4 Sheltered accomodation schemes within the West area, one in Handel Court off Lodge Lane, one at Dingle Grange, one in Parkhill Court, Dingle and one in Mazenod Court in L3. They cater for elderly tenants and provide a safe secure environment, with community activities.

Throughout the West area, the Ward Councillors and MP’s play an active part. There are resident associations and a large variety of community groups active in the area.
