Moving in at Goddard Chase


Halewood resident Luth really wanted to move into her own home where her young children could thrive. That dream started to become real when she discovered the attractive Shared Ownership homes at LMH’s Goddard Chase development.

Luth had previously looked at new homes built by commercial developers, which were out of financial reach. The affordability of Shared Ownership immediately aroused her interest. “As I was reading I thought - is this a possibility for me?” she explains. “I got in touch with Rebecca at LMH Sales, who sent me all the information and was nice and helpful. The whole team were really supportive.”

With Shared Ownership, monthly payments can be significantly lower than renting or buying a comparable home on the open market. It’s an easier way to step on the property ladder, once potential buyers meet the required eligibility criteria. When Luth got in touch with one of LMH’s preferred mortgage advisors to see if she could afford the monthly payments for her home, she was initially disappointed. “Unfortunately I was not successful,” she says. “I tried going to an external company, but the result was the same. I thought my dream of owning my own home just wasn’t going to come true.”

The LMH Sales stayed in touch with Luth and looked at available options. Soon, Luth’s circumstances changed and she was able to increase her deposit. Luth explains, “I wasn’t sure if I was going to be unsuccessful again, but LMH were really positive. They assured me I was going to get it this time. I couldn’t believe it when I was accepted!”

The home was ready for viewing in January 2018. As Luth says, this was a “very exciting day; it all went well and I was looking forward to moving in.” LMH contacted her solicitor and sent Luth images of the kind of tiling she could choose in her kitchen and bathroom. The house was ready in March and LMH sent on confirmation that contracts had been exchanged. Some unexpected delays took place with Luth’s solicitor. “I contacted LMH Sales to see if anything could be done and they made sure it was all sorted very quickly.” “I needed to move in as soon as possible. I had an exam coming up and I wanted to be in my home for that. I paid my deposit a day before the exchange. It was so hard keeping the surprise from my girls!”

LMH ensured that everything went smoothly and Rebecca went to meet Luth on moving in day. Luth says, “My eight-year-old was running around the house; she was so excited saying ‘Now I can play in the garden!’ I’m so happy now, I can’t even explain it.”
