A disused brown-field site in Kirkby is now being regenerated into attractive residential homes for affordable rent, thanks to a circa £2m investment by Liverpool Mutual Homes (LMH). LMH’s Sedburn Road development comprises 10 two-bed and 5 three-bed family houses, bringing much-needed new affordable rent homes to the local area.
Each home will benefit from high-quality modern kitchens and bathrooms, as well as off-road parking and both front and rear gardens. This contemporary scheme is another landmark development for LMH. Occupying a prominent position on a key corridor within Kirkby, Sedburn Road adds to the association’s growing stockholding in the Knowsley area, a major focus in its strategic growth plans.
LMH Chief Executive Steve Coffey said, “We are proud to be delivering quality homes in Knowsley that meet local demand for modern affordable housing.
“Close partnership working with Knowsley Council and other key project partners has enabled the build team to hit the ground running at Sedburn Road and it’s great to see the progress already being made on site.”
Knowsley Council’s Cabinet Lead Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, Councillor Brian O’Hare, said: “I’m delighted that we are working with Liverpool Mutual Homes to deliver high quality, affordable homes for rent. “This new development at Sedburn Road will be a significant addition to the affordable rent sector in Knowsley and I look forward to seeing progress made on site over the coming months.”
Sedburn Road is being developed by Strategic Team Group, which has worked with LMH for the last 18 months to develop the scheme.
The scheme is due for completion in March 2018.
