Phase 3 of the £19m Ogden’s factory redevelopment is refurbishing the historic factory clock tower and administration office into 19 affordable rent homes.
Designed by Imperial Tobacco’s company architect Henry Hartley and constructed between 1899 and 1901, Ogden’s clock tower is a Grade II listed Everton landmark. Our ambitious plan will see this historic structure refurbished and converted into 19 unique apartments for affordable rent.
The clock tower refurbishment - part of a wider £19 million investment in the 3.4-hectare Ogden’s site - is delivering affordable homes that meet local housing needs within a signature new development.
Great care is being taken to retain as many original features as possible, including the decorative inner and outer vestibules, mosaic tiles, oak panelled staircase and carved timber fireplaces. The iconic Ogden’s clock faces on the famous spire are also being returned to their former glory.
The conversion is progressing well and the first homes should be ready for their new tenants in late 2018.
