Independent living scheme residents had a fantastic time at the Great British Tea Party in Dingle Grange last week!
The party was funded by LMH’s new charitable arm ComMutual via an Older Persons Activities Fund grant. This fund was set up to support resident groups at LMH’s over 55s schemes - helping them hold successful activities and events throughout the year.
LMH Scheme Managers and Customer Involvement team work alongside ComMutual staff to provide active support for independent living events. It’s all part of the effort to combat social isolation, bring communities from different schemes together and promote health and wellbeing.
Over 85 tenants came together at the Great British Tea Party, including Dingle Grange residents and people living in eight other South Liverpool schemes.
Everyone enjoyed the free buffet and raffle, with prizes donated by Local ward councillors from Riverside and Princes Park, and by Tesco. A full entertainment programme followed, including songs by Abbi Lea, Liverpool Harmony Club and China Pearl.
One resident said, “It’s the best event I’ve been to in years! Thanks for putting on a great afternoon and great hospitality!”
Other comments included, “brilliant event and fantastic entertainment” and “I love this, love getting out and love meeting people!”
